We need 10 people willing to participate in a 7 week blogging pilot program. The goal will be to write one article a week about a common Christian topic. This should only take an hour or so of your time each week.

Possible Subjects include: (Open to suggestions)

– Who is Jesus?
– What does it mean to be “saved”?
– Why are short-term mission trips important?
– What is the purpose of church planting?
– Why did God create people?
– Why did God give us a free will?
– Why would God allow evil to exist in the world?
– What is the Holy Spirit?

We will group all of the answers to a consolidated area, so that someone who wants to read all of the responses will be able to easily navigate from one response to the next.

Why Do This?

 1)
To Teach: The Great Commission calls us to teach: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” A Disciple is one who accepts and assists in spreading the teachings of another. So just the Casting Crowns song: “If we are the body – Why aren’t our words teaching?” We were called to teach the love and words of Jesus Christ!

 2)
To Attract Seekers: According to internet statistics, people perform an extremely large number of daily searches on Christian topics. However, they don’t always find sensible, organized resources for answers.

AIM is producing an average of 60 blog post per day (FYM/Staff/World Race), but fewer than 25% of eligible bloggers are blogging!

Hopefully, this will grow into a larger movement where we can tackle tougher questions, as well as bring in more AIM staff to get a wider perspective.

When do we start?

I’m thinking that we should start in mid-January 2008, after everyone has a chance to get thier new years’ ducks in a row.

First, we need at least 10 volunteers. (But more is ok, too!) We already have 4, we need at least 6 more. Then, we can take suggestions for additional or alternative questions, and further lay out the plan.

Any other details?

The goal is to keep this simple, organized and not require a large amount of work on anyone’s part. Your answers don’t have to be long, because very few people like reading more than 2-3 paragraphs on the internet. It would be a good idea to refer to scripture in your answers. Finally, we will have Jeff Goins to provide some light editorial assistance on grammer and content. (If you don’t know Jeff, he is on staff with AIM / The World Race, and he owns and operates the Christian web magazine “Wrecked for the Ordinary“) Jeff is an excellent writer – be sure to check out his work!

So who’s in? Leave a comment below if you want to be part of the pilot program or have any questions. More than 10 people are welcome, so still feel free to sign up even if you see a lot of names below!
